In the top of the 2nd a Dickerson single followed by a Rasmus double looked to delivery a run for the Reds but Dickerson was thrown out at the plate . Walker was able to get a single to right as Rasmus scampered home  making the score 2-1. The starters settled down before a bottom of the 5th rally by Baltimore. Heyward doubled to lead off the inning but the next 2 batters were retired before Robinson was able to deliver a 2 out single to give the O's a 3-1 lead heading into the 6th.
